The Federal Government of Nagaland has questioned the validity of the press statement by the Zhopra Vero group titled “NNC endorses impeachment of Singnya”. In a press release issued by the Ministry of Rali Wali Affairs (Information and Publicity), the FGN alleges Bendang Sangam, Vice-President NNC along and some others with “self vested interest” of issuing the statement “trying to divide the political lines of NNC and now seated confusingly with the splinter group.”

The FGN mentioned that it had met with Senka Ao, President NNC on 28th October 2024 at Mokokchung “to share the political development of the government and the aftermath on impeachment of Zhopra Vero, Kedallo from NNC/FGN” and quoted Senka Ao as saying, “Nobody has consulted me within the NNC set up, I do not know and I do not express my words to anybody endorsing the impeachment of Brig. (Retd) S. Singnya”.

Further, the FGN maintained that in the eye of the Yehzabo, the President/Vice President NNC (central) with all Regional Presidents of NNC and its colleagues should have collective decision and therefore the statement defied the Yehzabo.

FGN Tikhir Region declares impeachment of Singnya null and void

Meanwhile, the Federal Government of Nagaland Tikhir Region held an emergency meeting on Monday 28th October 2024 where it declared the recent impeachment of Kedahge (Brig. Rtd) S. Singnya as null and void.

Apong K Tikhir, Medanpeyu and Khiapong Tikhirm Secretary informed that the declaration was made after a long discussion along with the regional members and army high ringing officers during a meeting at Kiusam Town. The FGN Tikhir Region also affirmed its full support to the Presidentship of (Brig. Rtd) S. Singnya Kedahge.
