Financial awareness camp held for women, girls in Mokokchung DIPR Nagaland

With the aim of promoting financial literacy and economic empowerment among women and girls, Sankalp- District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Financial Mission Shakti, under the aegis of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” in collaboration with the district administration Mokokchung organised a Financial Awareness Camp on June 24 at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mokokchung.                             
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma encouraged the participants to take proactive steps in managing their finances and utilize various government schemes and benefits tailored for their welfare. 
The camp featured sessions by officers from various financial institutions and government departments on the following topics, basics of banking saving and budgeting, digital financial literacy, safe online transactions, financial schemes for women, access to credit, loan and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The programme was chaired by Nukshinaro, gender specialist DHEW, who emphasized on the critical role of financial literacy in enabling women to become self-reliant and attain long term economic stability. She further highlighted the importance of inclusive and accessible financial education.

While proposing the vote of thanks, Tajungienla, specialist in financial literacy DHEW reaffirmed DHEW’s dedication to advancing the welfare and empowering of women and girls.
