Fire destroys three semi-RCC buildings in Mokokchung, causes damage worth ₹1.51 Crore

A fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday, March 15, destroying three semi-RCC buildings and partially damaging another in Mokokchung. Property worth an estimated ₹1.51 crore was lost in the blaze.

According to Officer-in-Charge of the Fire Department, Mokokchung, Keleseho Tsükrü, the fire call was received at 3:18 AM. Two fire tenders each from North and South Mokokchung Fire Stations were immediately dispatched to the scene, with multiple refilling operations conducted to control the flames.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit, Tsükrü informed Nagaland Tribune.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
