A devastating fire broke out at Kipongya Ward, Zone 6, Kisingki in Kiphire at 05:40 AM on Wednesday, affecting multiple households.
Fire and emergency services were pressed into action promptly. Two fire tenders were deployed with manpower to combat the inferno.
After a prolonged firefighting effort lasting one hour, the fire was brought under control.
The fire resulted in significant damage, with six rooms and three kitchens completely razed in the locality.

Authorities said two minor casualties were reported, who received first aid at the District Hospital Kiphire.
The incident occurred some three kilometres away from the Fire Station Kiphire. Despite the challenges posed by the distance and road connectivity issues, the fire department’s timely response and effective deployment of resources played a crucial role in controlling the fire and preventing further damage.
