The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has express profound sadness over the demise of demise of R. S. Jamir, IPS (Retd.), the first Naga Inspector General of Police (IGP), on 16 January 2025.

In a condolence message, NDPP chief Chingwang Konyak stated that Late R. S. Jamir was known for his dedicated service to the people and the State both as a disciplined police officer as well as in retirement. Konyak also said that Late Jamir had lived a long life filled with success and achievements over the years and added that in his demise, Nagaland has lost yet another octogenarian who served the people selflessly.

The NDPP has extended its heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family including Abu Metha, the deceased’s son-in-law.
