The handing over of assets under Fostering Climate Resilient Upland Framing System in the Northeast (FOCUS) Nagaland and signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary & Chairman PSC, FOCUS- Nagaland, Dr. J. Alam, IAS, at the CS’s Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat on June 30.
APC&MD FOCUS-Nagaland, Wezope Kenye, IAS, delivering his message said that it is a very significant day marking the official closing of the project’s six years journey and emphasized that handing over assets to the line departments is a step forward in ensuring sustainability of its intervention.
Kenye remarked that foundation has been laid and taking forward, the projects will now depend on the concerned departments. He also appealed to the line departments to continue fostering to the needs of the farming community in Nagaland.
Chief Secretary, Dr J Alam, delivering his concluding remarks said through the independent third party assessment and comments from the senior officials FOCUS projects brings an encouraging picture compared to many other projects implemented in Nagaland.
Alam also urged the departments to make the best use of the resources available and mobilize, maintain, upscale and expand the projects for the benefit of the people.

Dr. Alam outlined that the resource persons and knowledge partners are the biggest take away from the project and that departments must identify and utilize these resources for similar projects in future for better implementation.
He also highlighted about the concerns over the maintenance of created assets which the line department may face while continuing the projects. He extended his gratitude to all partnered departments for being part of the project.
Earlier, handing over of assets under FOCUS-Nagaland and signing of MoA was done with Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Department of Cooperation and Department of Agriculture.
It may be mentioned that with the signing of the MoA, the line departments accepts full responsibility for the assets, including up scaling, maintenance and future utilization of the projects. The said agreements will become effective as on 30 June 2025 upon execution by authorized representatives of both parties.
