The third day of the Tokhü Emong cum Mini Hornbill Festival in Wokha was marked by competitions like Folk Dance, Folk Song and Yodeling on 6th November 2024 at public ground, Wokha. The event was graced by Elias T. Lotha, Transport Commissioner, Nagaland, as the special guest for the occasion.
In his address to the gathering, Lotha emphasised the importance of unity amidst diversity. He urged the community to view differences in beliefs, perspectives, and mentalities not as divisions, but as unique strengths that can contribute to building a stronger, more harmonious society. “Unity in diversity is our strength,” he said, encouraging everyone to embrace this principle and work towards fostering mutual respect.
Lotha further stressed that a community’s identity is deeply rooted in its history, values, and shared priorities. He appealed to the people to uphold the dignity of every individual, reminding them that each person is created with inherent worth. Drawing on Christian teachings, he urged the community to live in harmony, support one another, and avoid feelings of jealousy or division. “We are all made in God’s image,” he said, reminding the audience to live according to Christian values, which encourages love, respect, and care for others.
