Football Camp held in Peren under SVEEP campaign

Peren: Registration in electoral roll for all eligible and perspective electors was conducted during event

A free Football Camp was held in Peren town under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign 2023 on 4th and 5th September 2023 at Peren Local Ground. The program was organised by Peren Deputy Commissioner, District Election Officer in collaboration with Nagaland Sports Association with the objective to educate the young population on electoral awareness and involve them in the electoral process.

49 boys and 10 girls from three schools and one college and from Peren Town Youth organization participated in the two-day Football Camp which was conducted by AIFF certified coaches and members of Nagaland Sport Association.

On the first day, the students were trained on basic tactics in football, training them how to play as a team and also how to be good sportspersons. On the second day, the players were divided into teams of seven each and the best two teams played a final exhibition match representing the Chief Electoral Officer team and the District Election Officer team. The girls were also divided into two teams and a final match was played representing CEO and DEO team.

On the sideline of the SVEEP camp, registration in electoral roll for all eligible and perspective electors was also conducted.

Keneinguze Immanuel Pienyü, State SVEEP Icon and prominent football player also exhorted the student on electoral education and encouraged them to get registered in the electoral roll. The Football Camp was beneficial for students in both field of football and electoral awareness.
