The Governor of Nagaland today appointed T. John Longkumer, IPS, Retired DGP as the State Election Commissioner.

An order issued by T. Nchumbemo Odyuo, NCS, Additional Secretary, Government of Nagaland stated, “In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 31 of the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023, the Governor of Nagaland is pleased to appoint T. John Longkumer, IPS, Retired DGP. Nagaland as the State Election Commissioner w.e.f. the date of assuming charge for a period of 5 (five) years or till he attains the age of 65 years, or until further orders or whichever is earlier”.

The terms and conditions of the appointment of Longkumer as the State Election Commissioner will be regulated in accordance with Rule 3..5.6.7 & 8 of the State Election Commissioner (Condition of Service) Rule.
