Former captain of Indian cricket team Sourav Ganguly has accepted Tripura government’s proposal to be the Brand Ambassador of Tripura Tourism.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury along with the secretary and director of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd met Ganguly at his residence in Kolkata today.
Ganguly is likely to visit Agartala by the end of next month. He asserted that along with tourism the state should also emphasise on sports, as sport is also vital in tourism promotion.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha had a telephonic conversation with the former captain of Indian cricket team and expressed, “I am confident that Shri Ganguly Ji’s participation will definitely give an impetus to the state’s tourism sector.”
