Former member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 57 Thonoknyu A/C and father of MLA Benei M Lamthiu, P Mongchua passed away today at Tuensang. Late Mongchua is the father of NPP MLA, Benei M Lamthiu.

Expressing grief and sorrow at the demise of late Mongchua, National People’s Party (NPP) said that he was a respected public leader and among the early legislators of Nagaland, who served the people with dedication, simplicity and deep sense of responsibility.

President of NPP Nagaland, A Nyamnyei Konyak expressed grief at the passing of P Mongchua and said his life of service and leadership has left a lasting imprint on the people of Thonoknyu and Nagaland at large.

On behalf of the NPP Nagaland, he conveyed heartfelt condolences to MLA Benei M Lamthiu and the bereaved family and prayed that God grant them strength and comfort during the time of grief.

The party also expressed solidarity with the MLA and the entire bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
