The former Office Bearers of 31 Akuluto Mandal (Assembly Constituency) Committee, who had earlier resigned just before the Assembly Polls held earlier this year have rejoined the party, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee informed on Thursday.

NPCC stated that the formal joining ceremony took place on 15th November 2023 in the presence of Capt GK Zhimomi, PCC Vice President and Vikato Zhimomi, President Zunheboto DCC, at Akuluto Town, Nagaland.

“The fact that this is happening at a Constituency which had sent the BJP candidate unopposed to the Legislative Assembly just a few months back says a lot about the utter disillusionment of the people towards the BJP,” NPCC said in its press release. It also added that this development will act as a huge morale booster to the rank and file of the Congress Party, with General Elections right around the corner.

NPCC extended its warm welcome to the new entrants of 31 Akuluto AC and wished them the very best “as they embark upon a new chapter in their political journey driven by the People Centric Ideals of the Indian National Congress.”
