The Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat has informed that it had received only one nomination till the last date and time of filing for nomination papers for the post of Speaker to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

It informed that Sharingain Longkumer, member of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, filed his nomination for the post of Speaker on 18th March, proposed by Minister Temjen Imna Along and seconded by Advisor, Kekhrielhoulie Yhome.

No withdrawals were also made till the expiry of the date and time for withdrawals, a DIPR report stated.
