The First Meluri Winter Fest is currently under way at Meluri local ground, informed the DIPR. The two day winter fest will be held from December 11 and 12 under the theme ‘Fostering Oneness’.
The programme was initiated by the ADC Meluri Albert Ezung and organised by the District Administration & Police, in collaboration with Head of offices Meluri, Village council Meluri, Meluri Public Area Organisation (MAPO) Müluori Shefüri Kügharü (MSK) Müluori küchienyiri Kügharü(MKK) Women Welfare Society Meluri Town, Meluri Town Business union((MTBU,) and joint wards co-ordination committee(JWCC)
On December 11, the inaugural session was graced by Chonpa Jurry, President Pochury Hoho as the Special Guest. Jurry expressed his happiness and his appreciation to the ADC Meluri and the organizers for bringing out “such a beautiful fest of its kind in Meluri and pochury as a whole”. He congratulated the organisers for setting an exemplary legacy which will be remembered for years to come. Speaking on the theme “Fostering Oneness”, Jurry noted that unity and oneness amongst brothers from various communities will bring harmony and peace not only to the denizens of Meluri and Pochury but also to the State and the nation as a whole.

ADC Meluri Albert Ezung, in his keynote address mentioned that, this first ever winter fest will prove as a window to the outside world of Pochury and its people. Ezung also announced that the Government of Nagaland has in principle acknowledged Meluri as a Separate District and was hopeful that, the aspirations of the people will be achieved very soon. Tsirütho Nyusou, VCC Meluri and Rieniesie Ngouri, Convenor JWCC also spoke during the event. Special numbers were presented By Kütsiasie Kajiri and Alpha Music Academy. Temjen Aier, Pastor, Meluri Town Ao Baptist Church invoked God’s blessings while the inaugural session was chaired EAC Meluri, Sakuchingmak Chang. Thousands of Meluri Town settlers visited the event to witness the town’s first winter fest.
