Free Anti Rabies vaccination under ASCD 2024-25 was conducted by the Department of Animal Husbandry &Veterinary Services Wokha, Nagaland. The district level awareness programme was held at Hayiyan village under Bhandari Sub-division on November 13 and at Merapani village on November 14.

Awareness on Disease Economic Emergency & Zoonotic Importance under Assistance to state for control of animal diseases (ASCAD) 2024-25 implemented during 2025-26 was held with VAS, Merapani, Dr. Kikali G Sumi as the resource person of the programme.

She highlighted the importance of taking regular vaccination to protect Livestock and reduce economic loss for farmers and early disease reporting to the authority. She also emphasized controlling African Swine Fever (ASF).

A total of 18 farmers participated in the awareness programme. Basic Veterinary aids were disturbed and also free ARV vaccination conducted. A total of 42 pets were vaccinated.
