A Free Medical Camp was conducted on 18 February 2025 at the Office of the Superintendent of Police (SP) Office, Phek. The camp was led by SP Phek, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, IPS and benefitted police personnel, their families, and district administration staff, a press release stated.
Addressing the gathering during the event, Dr. Kaur expressed gratitude to the doctors and medical team for their support. She emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups for early diagnosis and treatment, urging participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Stressing the dangers of smoking, alcohol, and substance abuse, she encouraged everyone to prioritize preventive healthcare.
“A healthy body is the foundation of a strong society. When the police and administration are healthy, it benefits the entire district,” she stated.
She also highlighted the role of physical exercise in combating lifestyle diseases like hypertension and diabetes, and advised everyone to take up sports or creative hobbies to maintain mental well-being.
During the program, doctors provided awareness on HIV/AIDS, tobacco control, hepatitis, and other health concerns. Participants underwent medical screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, and other ailments.
The event began with an invocation prayer by Veruyoyi Khesoh, Pastor of Police Baptist Church, Phek, followed by a welcome address from Additional SP Phek, Bendangtemjen Jamir, who also chaired the session.
Police personnel, their families, Dobashis, and DC office staff availed themselves of the free medical services.
