Free medical camp held for sanitation workers in Mokokchung

Mokokchung: ‘Good health of sanitation workers should be a priority so that they can carry out their work effectively’.

A free medical camp and workshop on ‘Sanitation and Hygiene’ for Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) sanitation workers was held at MMC conference hall, Mokokchung on 13 March.

Organised by MMC, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Administrator of MMC, Chumlamo Humtsoe, in his keynote address, stated that everyone should be thankful to the sanitation workers for their dedication and tireless effort in keeping the town clean and beautiful, an update from DPRO Mokokchung informed.

He maintained that the good health of sanitation workers should be a priority so that they can carry out their work effectively. Chumlamo also asked the sanitation workers without the Ayushman Card to apply at the earliest saying that it would be beneficial for them and their families.

He also thanked the medical officers and staff for rendering their services and all who have contributed to making the programme a success.

Dr. Francis Rai, MO AYUSH, Kubza AHWC also spoke on the topic “Sanitation and Hygiene”, while vote of thanks was proposed by Sentiyapang, FA, it stated.

Dr. Francis Rai, MO AYUSH, Kubza AHWC also spoke on the topic “Sanitation and Hygiene” as the resource person and head doctor. He emphasised the value of maintaining good hygiene and the use of PPE kits to avoid illnesses brought on by various types of pollutants, viruses, and bacteria.

The medical team consisted of 12 members headed by Dr. Rai, including a team of two people each from NVBDCP and IEC Bureau.

A total of 49 sanitation workers and MMC staff received free medical check-up, blood tests, vaccination for Hepatitis and free medicines during the camp.
