Frontier School Noklak inaugurated

A jubilee dream envisioned in 2022 became a reality on January 9 with the inauguration of Frontier School Noklak at Jimleen, Noklak Village, following years of meticulous planning, collective sacrifices, and unwavering commitment by the community. A dedicatory prayer offered by Rev. Hempao, ES KBCA Komking, Noklak.

The school has enrolled a total of 61 students under Class A and Class B, comprising 30 female and 31 male students. The school has been planned with a vision of yearly upgradation of classes, with Hindi to be introduced from Class I and the Burmese language to be introduced within the next two years.

Special Guest, P Longon described the school as a “newborn child” that is fragile and dependent on proper upbringing. Drawing from his experience as a former teacher, he emphasized the difference between being a teacher by designation and being a responsible teacher by commitment.

The MLA urged the community to remain prayerful, united, and action-oriented, stating that sincere efforts today would enable the school to attract students even from neighboring areas in the future. He encouraged individuals to utilize their God-given talents effectively and suggested the inclusion of vocational education in the days ahead. He also reminded teachers to impart values alongside academics, stressing the importance of truthfulness in society and before God.

Assuring his support, Longon stated that he would stand by the church and the school planning board whenever assistance is required. He also announced a donation of ₹2 lakh towards the development of the school.

Earlier,  Longon unveiled the monolith in the presence of church leaders, village authorities, community representatives, and well-wishers.

Deputy Commissioner, Noklak District, Mono Khiamniungan congratulated the church leaders, organizations, and villagers for initiating Frontier School Noklak. He described the beginning as a much-needed step and stressed the importance of building a strong foundation starting from nursery and primary levels. He noted that such an institution would have a positive social and economic impact on the area and urged all sections of society to share equal responsibility in maintaining the school through unity and peace.

Council Chairman, Noklak Village, Panpan,  urged the community, including the special guest and district administration, to extend continuous support to the newly established institution. He stated that as a beginner, the school would face many challenges and require collective care and commitment. He acknowledged the sacrifices and contributions of various organizations, particularly Thang Public Organisations, Baptist Church Thang, and village councils, and called upon the community to remain steadfast in supporting the school for a successful future.

President of the Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), L Ngon  emphasized that hard work leads to success and unity brings positive progress. He expressed hope that Frontier School Noklak would emerge as a centre of quality education for the Khiamniungan community and serve as a pillar for future generations. He encouraged the community to continue the spirit of unity and sacrifice that led to the establishment of the school.

Earlier, the program was chaired by Tsungom L, teacher In-charge, invocation by Thengiu, Associate pastor, BCT, welcome address by H Pushing, Convenor, School planning committee, special number by Tsutin Shiu and vote of thanks by Langshen K, Pastor, BCT, and benediction by Thingpia, Associate pastor women.
