GHS Naga United village celebrates 50 years

The Government High School Naga United village, Dimapur today celebrated its Golden Jubilee under the theme “Honouring our past, envisioning our future” at the Local ground, Naga United village with Dr.Kekhrielhoulie Yhome,Advisor for school education & SCERT, Government of Nagaland, as the Special Guest.

Speaking on the global changes that has taken place in recent years, Dr Yhome stated that the Nagas are currently excelling in various fields, competing both nationally and internationally and achieving significant milestones. He expressed the hope that in the next fifty years,the school will produce outstanding individuals who will contribute to the progress of the people and the State.

Admitting the challenges faced by the Education Department in a State like Nagaland, particularly in managing over 4000 students across private and government institutions, Dr. Yhome stressed on the critical role of educators in nurturing these students,who represent the future of the State

Dr.Yhome also highlighted the government’s commitment in expanding and upgrading schools following the Village Council’s memorandum requesting the school’s upgradation to a Higher secondary level. He assured that the government would review the matter positively, and provided the school meets the required criteria.

Dr.Yhome also expressed empathy for the teachers, acknowledging their dedicated efforts despite being often under valued.

The program was chaired by Lanusenla Imsong while Kuvezo Kezo led the program. The invocation was pronounced by Rev.Kilang Jamir, Director of Youth Harvest Ministry and the welcome note was delivered by Pekinto to Y.Jimo, Convenor of the Golden Jubilee planning board. Rev. Dozo, President of UCTM, bestowed the jubilee blessings and extended his blessings to the staff of GHS Naga United village.

The event featured a hymn from the jubilee choir, a vibrant Chakesang folk dance by Dzuve cultural troupe, choreography performance from the school’s Tiny Tots,and a special number presented by Jano Nyekha, Administrator, School of Music, Dimapur

R Rosemary Kent, Assistant Headmistress of GHS Naga United village, conveyed the vote of thanks and Khegholi Zhimo, Women Pastor of Sumi Baptist Church, Naga United village, concluded the program with a benediction.

Earlier in the day, the Special Guest unveiled the jubilee Monolith and the Souvenir.
