Government Middle School (GMS) Bayavü, Kohima conducted an exposure trip on 7 November 2023 by hiking to Mt Puliebadze, Jotsoma in Kohima district.

The school informed that the activity was organised as part of ‘learning beyond classroom’ to know better the ecosystem and the environment.

On the way to the peak, the students participated in a plogging activity where they collected the plastic wastes and wrappers and disposes them in wastebins with the objective to maintain a healthy and clean environment and also promote sustainable living.

The hikers also got a first-hand experience of identifying the various plants, herbs and trees besides enjoying the breadth taking view of Kohima city and its surrounding areas from the top of Puliebadze.

Anice, a class 8 student, remarked that it was an eye-opening experience, remarking, “It taught us that we ought to preserve nature and live in harmony with it.”

A total of 63 students of classes 7 and 8 from GMS Bayavü led by the Head Teacher and three teachers undertook the hike to Puliebadze
