The Government of India and the NSCN (K) Niki have extended the Ceasefire Agreement today in New Delhi “to bring about a lasting peace in the State of Nagaland with the involvement of Naga people.”
The new agreement will be effective from 8th September 2024 for a period of one year, i.e. till 7th September 2025.
The document stated that the Ceasefire will be subject to adherence to the Ceasefire Ground Rules mutually agreed to and signed by the two sides and was signed by Abel Zingrü Thuer, Supervisor, CFSB, NSCN (K) Niki, Ameka Achumi, Secretary, CFSB, NSCN (K) Niki and Piyush Goyal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.
