He underscored the broader role of arts, music, and literature in shaping the moral, emotional, and intellectual character of society, adding that these fields cultivate empathy, reflection, and harmony — essential elements for a peaceful and progressive State. The Governor also acknowledged the efforts of artists and scholars engaged in documenting indigenous knowledge, folklore, oral traditions, and endangered languages, noting that such work safeguards Nagaland’s heritage for future generations.
Congratulating the awardees, he said their success reflects perseverance, passion, and purpose, and serves as a strong message to youth that commitment to creative pursuits is both noble and nation-building. He further noted that the Government of Nagaland has been taking commendable steps to promote cultural preservation and creative industries, which not only strengthen identity but also generate livelihoods and enhance the State’s presence at national and international levels.
Describing awards as milestones rather than endpoints, the Governor encouraged the recipients to take on greater responsibility in mentoring emerging talents and contributing to cultural dialogue and innovation. The ceremony concluded with the Governor extending his heartfelt congratulations to all recipients and expressing hope that their work will continue to enlighten minds, touch hearts, and enrich Nagaland’s cultural legacy.
