Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, felicitated 37 National Cadet Corps (NCC) Cadets and seven NCC staff during a special ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on 30 March 2025. The event was conducted under the aegis of NCC Group. The ceremony was organised to celebrate the remarkable achievements by the NCC Cadets and NCC Staff of Nagaland at various events at national and regional levels, the PRO (Defence) for Nagaland, Imphal and rest of Arunachal Pradesh stated in a press release.
Speaking on the occasion the Governor complimented the achievers for their sterling performance for representing the state in various NCC related activities to include Republic Day Parade-2025, Prime Minister Rally, Vayu Sena Camp, Special National Integration camp, sports competitions. He exhalted the youth for their dedication and commitment and said that the NCC cadets are contributing immensely towards the Nation Building activities and towards achieving the national mission of ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’.
The Governor complimented four cadets of Sainik School, Punglwa on being selected to join the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA).
The Governor also felicitated seven outstanding NCC Officers and Instructors who have played a vital role in training the cadets to achieve great laurels for the state. He said that the trainers and instructors are role models and greatly influence the young minds through their own achievements.
The event coincided with the live screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Maan Ki Baat’ program by Doordarshan Kohima.
The event was attended by over 150 cadets and staff at alongwith other dignitaries. Colonel Lovelesh Panghal, Commanding Officer, 1 Nagaland Battalion NCC presented a brief update on NCC activities.
The event culminated with a resonating rendition of the National Anthem and was followed by an informal interaction by the governor with the awardees, the press release stated.
