As part of the Grassroots Football Festival, the department of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) organized the Baby Cubs League 2025 at IG Stadium Kohima on June 21.
The special guest of the inaugural ceremony, YRS additional director Megolhu Dolie encouraged the young participants to work hard and perform well. He urged them to play with discipline, dedication, and hard work.
YRS director Kethosituo Sekhose emphasized that such programs help children exercise and discover their passion. He stated that these initiatives aid in talent identification, and when the time comes, special coaching will be provided to groom them from a young age.
Earlier, Kedoviphre Tsira, Pastor of Naga Christian Fellowship, Nagpur (Maharashtra) blessed the program with a prayer.

Winners of the mini league were given merit certificates and medals along with participation certificate.
A total of 297 children participated in the league, divided into age-wise groups for competition.
Results:
5-6 years: Winner – Liverpool, Runners-up – Manchester United
7-8 years: Winner – Saramati, Runners-up – Japfü
9-10 years: Winner – Shiloi, Runners-up – Dhansari
11-12 years: Winner – Real Madrid, Runners-up – God’s Glory
