GYAK to host 1st Open Gorkha Beat Contest

Kohima: Top three winners to receive cash award of ₹50,000, ₹25,000 and ₹15,000 respectively

The Gorkha Youth Association Kohima (GYAK) has notified that its First ever Open Gorkha Beat Contest will be hosted on the 9th November 2024 at State Academy Hall Kohima.

The contest will be based on band competition having a minimum of four members and each bands will have to perform two Nepali songs.

The association also informed that the contest will be judged by prominent musicians and lyricists, whereby, the top three winners will receive a cash award of Rs 50,000 for the first place winner, Rs 25,000 for second place and Rs 15,000 for third place.

Further, individual prizes of Rs 7000 each will also be given away to the best vocalist, guitarist, bassist and drummer.

GYAK informed that an amount of Rs 5000 per band will be realised from every band as non-refundable registration fee. The registrations will close on the 20th of October 20, 2024.
