The monthly meeting of the District Planning and Development Board was held on October 20 at the DC office in Kiphire. Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, John Tsulise Sangtam, chaired the meeting, informed a DIPR report.
One of the key discussions during the meeting revolved around the change of the village nomenclature from ‘Hakomude’ to ‘Hakkomute,’ which reflected the accurate pronunciation of the village name. According to the DIPR, the name ‘Hakkomute’ signifies a place where pig skulls are hung. The members of the board unanimously approved the change, and the village will be referred to as ‘Hakkomute’ henceforth.
In a review of the previous meeting’s agenda, the formation of the Kiphire Officer’s Club was discussed, where the following members have been inducted into the club:President: DC Kiphire, Vice Presidents: SP and DPO (LRD), Asst. General Secretaries: Er. Alok EE PHED, Martha Asst. Professor ZPGC, and District Sports Officer, Treasurer: Dr. Tsilise CVO, Finance Secretary: Vilila ARO Art & Culture, Information Secy: DPRO (IPR), Er. Nuthozo Joshi SDO Power, Dr. Holiba MO District Hospital.

The meeting also approved a registration fee of ₹2000 and an annual membership fee of ₹1000. An agenda regarding the proposal for creating a CDPO (Child Development Project Officer) office at Longmatra has been deferred to the next meeting due to the concerned officer being on leave.
The board welcomed two new members, Er. Heoka H. Sumi SDO PHED and T. Khyodemo Ovung, Officer Incharge Government Industrial Training Institute Kiphire.
