Hanging Libraries for three Government schools under Pungro block and two Government schools under Khongsa Aspirational Block were distributed on October 29 at EBRC Hall Pungro Town.

Donated by Books For All (BFA) Noida, the collaborated initiative of Piramal Foundation (Aspirational Bharat Collaborative) and EBRC Pungro aimed to make children inculcate the love of reading books and improve learning outcomes.

Hanrenla, Coordinator EBRC Pungro Block, while appreciating BFA Noida and Piramal Foundation stated that the value of reading in childrens’ education is enormous and reading encourages several skills in children, such as language, vocabulary growth and creativity. Hence, making a library of books available to children in their growing and developmental stage is important for their overall development and urged teachers to utilize the hanging library.

Lithsa, Piramal Foundation (ABC) expressed that the vision of instilling a reading culture, a small library of books comprising mainly story books and rhyme are targeted for primary and middle schools and wished that this collaborative initiative will sow the seeds of cultivating the habit of reading by the children.

Beneficiaries of the hanging Library includes: GMS Pungro Town, GMS Pungro Villlage, GMS Penkim, GMS Zaonger and GPS Fakim.
