Minister of Health and Family Welfare P Paiwang Konyak on Tuesday asserted that land donors’ ties to conditions have become a hurdle for the government to develop any project within the stipulated time.

The minister, who is on a second phase statewide tour as part of Viksit Nagaland for Viksit Bharat, stated this during his visit to the recently upgraded Community Health Centre (CHC) building at Satakha under Zunheboto district.

After inspecting the CHC building, the minister informed the land donors to consider donating land for the construction of hospitals as a noble act of humanity and selflessness.

While assuring his commitment to fully develop the CHC, he sought cooperation from the land donors and the citizens, stating that once the CHC infrastructure is fully completed, it can become a model CHC.

Konyak further assured that once the CHC is made fully functional, the strength of health workers will be strengthened.

He also urged upon civil society organisation leaders to guide the citizens to get registered with CMHIS and Ayushman Bharat, ensuring that no individual is deprived of free access to health care.

The minister also emphasised on cancellation of pharmacies that do not possess legal documents or are operated by unqualified personnel, stating that “cancellation will continue as per the law”.

He also visited PHC Satakha and interacted with the patients, inspected the drug store and laboratory, and also inspected the ongoing construction work of District Hospital Zunheboto along with the local representative and advisor Food and Civil Supplies KT Sukhalu.

The Minister was accompanied by the secretary, principal director and a host of senior officials from the medical department.

Meanwhile, Konyak urged the BJP Party workers of Zunheboto district to participate and continue to support the government to achieve the Prime Minister of India’s vision of a “Viksit Nagaland for Viksit Bharat”.
