Nagaland is likely to witness “Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall activity over Nagaland during 18-19 June 2024”, according to a special weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre, Kohima
“The east-west trough from central Uttar Pradesh to east Meghalaya now runs from northwest Bihar to east Assam across Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim at 0.9 km above mean sea level. The trough in westerlies between 3.1 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level now runs roughly along Long. 94°E to the north of Lat. 26°N. The cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam & neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists,” informed the IMD.

Under its influence, according to the IMD, fairly widespread/widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur over Nagaland region on June 18 & 19.
On June 18, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over Kohima, Peren, Phek, Kiphire, Tuensang, Wokha, Mokukchung. Mon and Dimapur.
On June 19, isolated places over Kohima, Phek, Kiphire, Tuensang, Wokha, Mokukchung & Zunheboto will witness heavy rainfall.
