Movement of heavy vehicles on National Highway 2 between Viswema and Jakhama under Kohima district has been suspended until further notice, Kohima Police has informed.

Relo T Aye, NPS, Additional Superintendent of Police & PRO Kohima Police informed through a press release that due to the incessant rainfall, the bridge (near E Service Station) on NH 2 between Viswema and Jakhama has been critically damaged. Therefore, all heavy vehicle traffic plying on this route will be temporarily suspended, he stated.

The Addl. SP has also advised to all Passenger/LMV operators to avoid this route till further notice.

Further, he urged the public to extend cooperation for this precautionary traffic advisory.

This stretch of NH 2 links Nagaland to Manipur.
