The Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung has notified that the movement of all HMV (Heavy Motor Vehicles), HGMV (Heavy Goods Motor Vehicle), and HPMV (Heavy passenger Motor Vehicle) will be restricted on the Longpong Bridge between Longjang and Kilengmen along Asetkong-Tsusangra (AT) Road in Mokokchung district for 29 days with effect from 17th February 2024.

This restriction is being imposed in view of damage on a portion of the deck slab of the bridge that is “posing danger to the public traversing the road.”

However, light motor vehicles (LMV) will be allowed to pass through the bridge during the stipulated time, the DC informed.

He further stated that penal action would be taken against violators of the order and urged concerned Area Administrative Officers along with other law enforcing agencies to monitor the directive.
