The picturesque village of Amahator in Nagaland’s Kiphire district is buzzing with excitement and intense activity as preparations are in full swing for the 63rd General Session of the Amahator Village Students’ Union (AVSU). Scheduled to take place from December 27 to 29, 2025, at Amahator Headquarters, the three-day event promises to be a vibrant celebration of youth, culture, and faith under the inspiring theme “Embracing Cultural Identity in Christ”.

Members of the students’ union, along with village volunteers and community leaders, are working tirelessly to ensure everything is ready. From decorating the venue with traditional motifs to organizing cultural performances, logistical arrangements, and hospitality for guests, the preparations reflect the community’s deep commitment to preserving Sangtam heritage while fostering unity among the younger generation.

A major highlight of the session will be the presence of distinguished guests. Sethrichem Sangtam, founder of the Better Life Foundation and a Lead India Fellow, has accepted the invitation to grace the main event as the Cultural Guest. Known for his remarkable contributions to rural development, environmental sustainability, and livelihood security in eastern Nagaland—having helped triple incomes for over 1,200 marginal farmers—Sethrichem’s participation has generated immense enthusiasm. Citizens of Amahator and surrounding areas eagerly await his arrival, viewing him as an inspiring role model for the youth.

The session will also be enriched by Dr Apise Sangtam, who will deliver the theme address as the Theme Speaker, offering insights on integrating cultural identity with Christian values. Additionally, Rotiba Sangtam has been invited as the Resource Person to share valuable guidance during the proceedings.

On the sidelines, solidarity speeches will add to the spirit of camaraderie.

Longtili Sangtam, President of the Seyochung Village Students’ Union, and Lithrongba Sangtam, President of the Amahator Village Students’ Union, will address participants on different days, emphasizing inter-village cooperation and student leadership.
