Holy Angel School, Noklak kicked off it’s 23th edition of annual sports week under the theme “Strive to Excellence” on November 4 at Noklak public ground.
Addressing the media, Head Master, Holy Angel School Joseph said that the main purpose of organising sports week is to promote sports talents, discipline of the students. Besides the daily academic routine, Joseph said that he gives special attention to sports as it is one area where many students already have inborn skills, and therefore, very essential to guide them and polish their talent, and also promote physical fitness.
In the meantime, he proudly mentioned that Tongkem K, student from Holy Angel has won the 10 km marathon race in the district level, and has also represented the district in the nationals, which truly reflected the school’s commitment and dedication towards games and sports. He also advocated for promoting students to overcome challenges that comes with background.

Special guest, Colonel, Channender Pradap Singh, VCM Commandent, 32 Assam Rifles encouraged the students to take up the sports opportunity that comes rarely, adding to uphold true sportsmanship spirit in unity, discipline and safety. He acknowledged the importance given to sports at bar with the academic, and also extra co-curricular activities by the school, to which he said that it makes a complete person in the future. He also highlighted the example of the victories win made Indian Women cricket team, and further encouraged the students to make sports as professional career.
Earlier he unfurled the school flag, while, he also presented sports items to the school.
The event also featured an oath-taking ceremony, a special student performance, short speech by Thang Students Union(TSU), and a vote of thanks delivered by the school Sports Incharge, followed by benediction from the NTBC Deacon. The Special Guest then officially declared the Annual Games & Sports 2025 open.
