The Holy Care School Phek in collaboration with Pick a Book Foundation organized its First Parent’s Teachers Meeting (PTM) and Inauguration of School Library on March 8 at its Assembly Hall.

Greetings were delivered by Velule Tureng NPS, Deputy Commandant, School Board Chairperson who conveyed gratitude to the Pick a Book Foundation for donating Books towards the school. Tureng said that there is a total number of 702 books available in the school library facility. She also advised the students and teachers to make the best use of library facilities, stressing on the importance of reading culture and how it benefits the individual as well as the community. She also urged the parents to invest their time in their children as the parents support is vital in raising children.

Resource person Vezito Tetseo, Founder of Pick a Book Foundation in his speech congratulated the school authority on having its first library facility in the school which has been a long held dream. He also thanked Nyuvisie Nyusou, District Cultural Officer Kohima and Department of Art and Culture Nagaland for their contribution towards library facilities in the school.

According to Tetseo, library is a store house of knowledge and information. He urged the students to make the best use of the library and discover treasures which will add values in their life. He urged students to read books from the library and also keep themselves updated with the latest news and information as it will help them a lot while facing various competitive exams.

The School Board Chairperson inaugurated the library facility in the presence of Parents, Teachers and students. The program was chaired by Savino Kezho Zhimo, Headmistress and words of prayer were pronounced by Vetsuhu Puro, Asst Teacher.

The second session began with the Parents Teachers Meeting. The objective of the meeting was to create a mutual understanding and better coordination among the Parents and Teachers to understand various issues faced by the students and also how to address such issues
