Holy Cross School, 3rd Nap Saksi, Tuensang, celebrated Cultural Day at the school campus on 19th October 2024.

Speaking at the event, Achi Chang, Assistant Teacher, shared the importance of culture and remarked that culture is not merely a collection of costumes, traditions or arts. It is the lifeblood of our communities and the foundation of identities also shapes beliefs, influences, behaviours and enriches lives in countless ways, Chang stated.

She said that culture tells a story of resilience, creativity and connections through language and that we communicate our thoughts and emotions through music and dance. By valuing our traditions, we can ensure that future generations inherit a rich legacy, she added.

Speaking on cultural diversity, Chang said that when we engage with different cultures, we expand our perspectives, challenge our assumptions and cultivate respect for one another. She emphasised that it is essential for building peaceful societies where everyone feels valued and included.

She encouraged staff and students to mark this celebration as one of the most important parts of the vibrant expression of who we are today by sharing stories, honour traditions, learn from one another, create a harmonious world where our differences celebrated and shared humanity shines.
