‘Red Day cum Fruit Day’ was celebrated for the students of Nursery, LKG and UKG on Thursday at Holy Cross School, Saksi in Tuensang on 12th June 2024. The event was organised to promote fruit consumption and educate the students about the advantages of a balanced diet.

Chilula Chang, Supervisor of Montessori, during the event spoke on the importance of red and fruits day and stressed that everybody should know the value of fruits in a diet that is balanced and develop healthy eating habits from early in life. She informed the students that consuming a variety of fruits regularly can lower the chance of developing chronic illness.

The event was celebrated with excitement among the children. It helped them to sort and classify objects based on colours and thereby reinforcing the cognitive skills and to develop interest towards eating fruits.

All the teachers and students were dressed in red clothes as per the theme of the day.
