The Congress on Tuesday accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of “yet again” making false promise of talking about Frontier Nagaland after the election.
Speaking at a press conference in Dimapur, AICC Chairperson of Media and Publicity Department, Pawan Khera claimed that Congress had always been transparent with Naga people and therefore in its manifesto, it “proposed a feasible and accountable roadmap” for the eastern districts of Nagaland.
“The Congress Manifesto is a blueprint of our crystal-clear intention for Nagaland”, Khera said, talking about the set of assurances the party is offering if elected to power.
Khera also maintained that the Congress-led government was the first government that agreed “to talk at the highest level as demanded by our rebel brothers” and accused Neiphiu Rio of misleading the people of Nagaland with his 2003 election slogan to solve the Naga Political issue within 6 months.
Congress said that the party is willing to resume the talks with the Naga national workers.
Moreover, Pawan Khera claimed that when the Congress was defeated in the NLA election in 2003, the party left the governance in a “prim shape” but that now under the Rio government the state lies in “lap of scams”.
