Hornbill Festival 2023: Spear throw target, Go carting and log cutting competition held

The Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Department of Tribal Affairs organised an indigenous sports competition among the various tribes in Nagaland as part of the Hornbill Festival 2023 today. Held at the NSF & NPMHR Solidarity Park, the competition included Spear throw target, Go carting and log cutting competition.

In the log cutting competition, Ruokuohietuo Angami (Angami) won the first prize, while Hukato H Chophy(Sema), and Namyiteuling (Zeliang) secured the second and third position respectively.

Jeilei Wangsha (Konyak) won the first prize in the Go Karting competition followed by Imsushilu Ao (Ao) in the second position and Maheurapoing Poiring(Zeliang ) in the third position.

In the Spear throw competition, Pewhaulungsing from the Zeliang tribe won while Wuojisie Nyusou from Pochury tribe was adjudged the runner up. Yemlongchaba from Chang tribe secured the third position.
