Shot putter from Nagaland, Hokato Hotoshe Sema, has qualified to represent India at the Paris Paralympic Games 2024 which is scheduled to be held from 28 August – 8 September.
Announcing the news on X, Abu Metha, Associate Vice President, Athletics Federation of India (AFI), congratulated the athlete and encouraged him to “Go for Gold”.
Metha posted: “Make Nagaland Shine and India Proud.
Be Assured and Be Brave – the Prayers and Support of each and every one of us is with you. May Almighty Armour You as you step out into the Greatest Stage of the Global Arena. It doesn’t get bigger than this and we are so so proud. You are already a WINNER.”
Hokato Hotozhe Sema had earlier won the bronze medal in the Men’s Shotput F-56/57 category at the Asian Paralympic Games, Hangzhou, China in October 2023.
The Asian Paralympic Medalist will represent India in Athletics in the Shot-Put event.
