The three-day State level India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.M.M.U.N) Nagaland Conference hosted by G Rio Higher Secondary School Kohima culminated on Saturday with felicitation of the Committee Presiding Officers and distribution of awards to committee winners.
20 schools participated in the conference and the host G Rio Hr. Sec. School was awarded with the best delegation trophy.
Miss Nagaland and Miss Sumi, Hekali Achumi, guest of the closing ceremony handed over the best delegation trophy to the winning school. Achumi while thanking the organisers and the host school encouraged the students to believe in themselves and to fearlessly dream big, “I too have a dream that even scares me”.
I.M.M.U.N Nagaland conference 2023 saw students discuss, debate and resolve issues that impacts them directly. The students were grouped into ten committees with different agendas, namely: UNW – The question of ‘Pink Tax’; FIFA – Discussing the qualifying format for FIFA 2026; UNEP – Preparing framework for zero carbon emission policy; HCC– The Naga insurgency, SS – Discussing OTT and cinema in the post pandemic world; AIPPM – Question of national language; UNESCO – Common universal Education; JPC – Deal with rising unemployment; NLA – Discussing ways to increase FDI in the state; IOM – Preparing framework for zero carbon emission policy.

I.I.M.U.N is a youth organisation comprising of 26,000 young organisers who put together student conferences in 220 cities and 35 countries, and work with over 7,500 schools impacting 10 million students. I.I.M.U.N has been the World’s largest education conference brand, having organised the World’s Largest MUN simulation in Mumbai among many other simulations. It is also the first organisation to conduct multiple MUN conferences inside the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
