ICAS marks World Music Day with creative painting competition

Imchen’s Custom Art School Kohima in collaboration with the National People’s Party (NPP) youth front celebrated World Music Day with a creative painting competition at the AG Colony Council Hall, Kohima.

Moa Imchen, the proprietor who is also a 3D architectural designer noted that music transcends boundaries and unites people globally. To mark its significance, the occasion was marked with a vibrant Art Competition through symphony of colours.

Imchen also pondered on the art and craft activities which offer a wide range of benefits, impacting both mental and physical well-being, as well as fostering cognitive, life skills and social development. “They are not just enjoyable pastimes, but also valuable tools for personal growth and learning,” he said.

He also informed that the school is inclusive and provides opportunities for all students including Children with Special Needs (CwSN). He further stated that a 3D architectural designed course has been introduced in the curriculum which will be available for both junior and senior categories. Imchen encouraged art enthusiasts to hone their skills and pursue a professional path stressing the potential for a successful and profitable career.

Advocate Imchayanger Pongen who also attended the programme boosted the morale of art aspirants and encouraged them to excel and become professionals.

Nicky Nongkhlaw, National President of the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), NPP expressed his thoughts on World Music Day highlighting the significance of music as a universal language, fostering self-expression, creativity, teamwork, discipline and emotional well-being. Nonghlaw appreciated the participation of NPYF Nagaland in the celebration and extended gratitude to collaborating organizations including Imchen’s Custom Art School Kohima, Note Grid School Mokokchung and the Institute of Music Education Dimapur for sharing their platform.
