Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with State Bank of India for “Nagaland Tourism Connect Scheme”, a “Premium taxi scheme” where beneficiary gets 20% subsidies from the state government. Through the scheme it is hoped that youths in the state will be encouraged to avail the opportunities for tourist taxis specially during the Hornbill Festival where tourist taxis from outside the state reap the benefits of tourist visit in the state.
The MoU was signed by Chairman Abu Metha on behalf of IDAN at Rhododendron Hall Chümoukedima, DIPR said.
In the same program, Metha also virtually inaugurated Solar Street Light at Sovima and Chümoukedima, and Sulabh Public Toilet Complex at District Hospital. Addressing the inaugural function. Metha thanked the Corporate social responsibility (CSR), NABARD and HDFC for sponsoring the projects and successfully implementing it and further appeal to the corporate friends to come forward to support and partner with the people of the state and assured transparency and diligent in any further CSR projects in the state.
Metha also assured the gathering that such projects in future will reach the people who needed it the most but reminded that whether big or small projects it may be, without the support of the leaders and villagers the projects won’t be successful.
Short speeches were also delivered by Deputy Director, DH&FW; N.D Rajkhowa, Technical Advisor, Sulabh International; Tiakala Ao, GM NABARD; Lanuakum Jamir, Branch Head, HDFC; Sebastian Zumvü, VCC Sovima, and Sedevikho Tsükrü, Chümoukedima Village.
Earlier the program began with dedicatory prayer by Zhau Sanchu, Pastor, CRC Sovima Village and closing remark was delivered by I. Changsang, NCS, Under Secretary, IDAN. The program was chaired by Reny Wilfred, IAS, Joint Secretary, IDAN.
