IG Assam Rifles (North) Major Gen. Manesh Kumar SM visited Kiphire today and interacted with civil social organisations and public leaders.

In his address, the IG expressed that the people of Kiphire are always wonderful and welcoming and that he was happy to be in the midst of responsible citizens. He shared that when the soldiers leave their families and elders behind, they yearn for their support and encouragement. Major Gen Kumar said that the soldiers have found this in the embrace of the elders and people of the Kiphire and conveyed his gratefulness.

“Assam Rifles will stand by you, not as a favour to the Naga people but as responsible family members and loved ones for accepting us as one family,” he said.

Major Gen Kumar highlighted the various initiatives being implemented by the Assam Rifles in Nagaland to support students in education sectors and widows in welfare area that are changing life altogether in “small little ways”.

Encouraging the congregation to always approach the Assam Rifles if there is any need which can be extended by them, the IG stated, “We are here for you all”. He also urged the people to continue this beautiful relationship for the betterment of our society and country.
