Curfew in Imphal has been relaxed following orders released by the District Magistrate of Imphal East and Imphal West on Thursday. The restriction of movement of the general public in Imphal East and Imphal West outside their residences was lifted on November 2 from 10 am to 5 pm for all areas of Imphal West District, and from 10 am to 6 pm for residents of Imphal East District.

The curfew has been to facilitate general public to purchase the essential items including medicines and food items.

The relaxation, however excludes any gathering/sit-in-protest/rally etc. without obtaining approval through competent authority.

Further, the movement of persons belonging to essential services such as Health, Electricity, PHED, Petrol Pumps, Schools/Colleges, Municipality, Press and Electronic media, functioning of Courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to airport and Contractor/Worker with valid Airport Entry Permit (AEP) Card shall be exempted from the imposition of curfew.
