Inclusive Youth Camp held at Shokhuvi

An Inclusive Youth Camp under the theme ‘Fearless: faith over fear” (1 John 4:18) was organised by the Gospel Riders Ministry in collaboration with Living Tree Prayer Tower Ministry. The camp was held at Shokhuvi, Chümoukedima from January 5-7, 2024.

Participants from different communities and backgrounds attended the Inclusive Youth Camp. Altogether 91 youths out of which, 18 youths from PwDs (Persons with Disabilities) from different pockets of Nagaland came together for a transformative experience. According to a press release issued by the organisers, the camp, nestled in nature, provided a welcoming space for young minds to connect, learn, and grow.

Throughout the camp, diversity was celebrated, fostering an environment where everyone felt valued and included, stated the organizers. Interactive workshops and team-building activities empowered the participants to embrace their unique qualities while appreciating the differences that make the community rich and dynamic.

The speakers for the camp were Awoto Awomi, Convenor Gospel Riders Ministry, Pastor Shunato Sumi, Gilgal loving prayer and Healing Camp, Niuland and Angukabo V. Wotsa, Gospel Riders Ministry. The resource persons for the camp were Hinoli Hesso, Counsellor (City Hospital),WSBAK, Ashe Kiba and Boto Achumi.

“This year’s camp spotlight was taken by the visually impaired community when they stole the show with Lenen Jamir’s ‘Itaya Nungu’ and rap songs which they composed on their own,” mentioned the organizers.

The camp was graced by many renowned artists including the Abdon Mech, Gihuto Shikhu the multi-talented singer songwriter, Shikatoli N Kiho, finalist of Naga Hindi voice season 4, the talented Livika Assumi, Kinokali T. Aye, winner of ‘You Got the Voice Nagaland’ 2023, and renowned comedian Michalel Kez.
