The Taxpayers Lounge of Income Tax Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of India was launched by IRS Member (TPS) East Zone Central Board of Direct Taxes  Harinder Bir Singh Gill at the Kisama  Heritage Village Kohima on December 1, informed the DIPR.

The main focus of the Taxpayer Lounge is an initiatives to educate on PAN related matters, e-filing of income tax return and benefits, tax exemption u/s10 (26) for tribals, tax deduction at source,  information and grievances resolution counters, queries related to tax compliance. It also deals with e-verification scheme that has been introduced to encouraged voluntary tax compliance and facilitate a transparent and non-intrusive tax administration.
