New Delhi: Israel planning to take over 6,000 workers from India during April and May

The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, has on Friday advised Indian nationals not to travel to Israel or Iran until further notice amid the prevailing situation in the region.

All those who are currently residing in Iran or Israel are requested to get in touch with Indian Embassies there and register themselves, the Ministry also said.

Indian nationals in the region have also requested to observe utmost precautions about their safety and restrict their movements to the minimum.

On 10th April 2024, Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office said that the government had agreed to take over 6,000 workers from India during April and May. The Israeli PMO also informed that the workers would be transported on an “air shuttle” following the subsidizing of the charter flights.

This is the largest number of foreign workers arriving in Israel for the construction sector in a short time, it said.
