Following the meeting of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge affirmed that the bloc will continue “to fight against the fascist rule of the BJP led by Modi.”
Thanking the people of India for the “overwhelming support” on behalf of the alliance, Kharge said that the “people’s mandate has given a befitting reply to the BJP and their politics of hate, corruption and deprivation.”
This is a mandate in defence of the Constitution of India and against price rise, unemployment, and crony capitalism and also to save democracy, he stated and further asserted that the INDIA bloc will take “appropriate steps at the appropriate time to realise the people’s desire not to be ruled by the BJP government.”
This is our decision that whatever promises we have made to the people, we will keep it up, Kharge stated.
Earlier at the meeting, the Congress President congratulates the leaders of INDIA parties and reiterated that this election is “not only a political defeat, but also a moral defeat” for Narendra Modi.
The BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to be invited by the President to form the next Government. The NDA on Wednesday unanimously decided to make Modi the leader of the alliance.
