India’s Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh win bronze medal in ‘Mixed 10m Air Pistol Team Event’

Delhi: Manu Bhaker becomes first Indian to win two medals in same edition of Olympic Games

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh, representing India in the 10m Air Pistol team event, delivered exceptional performance as they secured the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. With the achievement, India’s medal count is currently at two. The duo triumphed over the Republic of Korea with a score of 16-10 following 13 shots in the final round of mixed 10m Air Pistol team event, informed Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.

With this medal, Manu becomes the first Indian to win two medals in the same edition of the Olympic Games.

Following the outstanding victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, lauded the two athletes on the social media platform X, “Our shooters continue to make us proud! Congratulations to @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the Bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the #Olympics . Both of them have shown great skills and teamwork. India is incredibly delighted. For Manu, this is her second consecutive Olympic medal, showcasing her consistent excellence and dedication.”

Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Labour & Employment; Youth Affairs & Sports also congratulated them. He posted on X: “Huge congratulations to @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the historic BRONZE medal in the 10m Air Pistol. Mixed Team event for Bharat! Your incredible teamwork has made the nation proud.”


Sarabjot Singh has been a Khelo India athlete since 2019 and has participated in 4 Khelo India Games as well as is a Target Olympic Podium Scheme athlete. Manu Bhaker has also been a former competitor of the Khelo India Games and is a Target Olympic Podium Scheme Athlete.

In the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Qualification Round, Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh showed their precision and skill, securing a combined score of 580. This impressive performance placed them among the top contenders, earning them a spot in the bronze medal shoot-off.

With today’s medal, India is now placed at 27 in the Paris Olympics with two Bronze.
