For the first time, an indoor games tournament was organised by the District Hospital Tuensang on February 16. The event was held at the campus district hospital under the theme “Unleash the champion within”.

The tournament was kicked off by Dr.Ato, Physiotherapy, District Hospital Tuensang who mentioned that the event was organised in a bid to promote physical fitness and foster a spirit of healthy competition among the staffs.

“Sports play an important role in physical and mental development of one’s life. It helps us to stay happy and healthy while it also teaches us the values like discipline, teamwork and equality,” said Dr. Ato.

He also expressed enthusiasm in witnessing the staff engaging in healthy competition in the indoor sports with zeal. The competition not only help them stay physically active but also sharpen their mental health, said the Medical professional.

The Indoor games tournament featured an array of games including chess, carrom, Ludo, table tennis and badminton.

The event was successfully held with great enthusiasm and healthy competition among the staff.
